Influencing the world through words

Ever since I was a kid, I dreamt of travelling every nook and corner of the world. While that remains close to impossible, I still have hope of at least visiting 75 countries before I leave planet Earth. As of now, that seems a distant dream, but a voice inside of me keeps yelling the words “if you believe, you will achieve.” And hey, you know what, I WILL ACHIEVE IT (fingers crossed)!

World in my hand

There are many places on Earth that I wish to visit. In fact, every continent has its own speciality. And this thought got me thinking; why not write about the places I dream of visiting in every continent, and here it is, I am writing about it. So, before wasting any more time let me get straight at it!

So I’ve jotted down the places I wish to visit in every continent. Go through them and once you’re done, let me know your favourite destination in the comments section below (do not forget to comment).

North America – New York City

Times Square, New York

Arguably the best city in the whole wide world, New York City would be on every traveller or persons ‘must visit places before I die’ list. There are many things to do in New York and I would personally visit the following:

  • Statue of Liberty National Monument
  • Brooklyn Bridge
  • Central Park
  • Times Square
  • Rockefeller Centre
  • Empire State Building
Brooklyn Bridge, New York

South America – Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires

Perhaps many would disagree with me, but Buenos Aires in Argentina would be my first destination to visit if I ever travelled to South America. It’s picturesque, beautiful and one of my favourite destinations. The things I would visit in Buenos Aires are:

  • La Boca
  • Plaza de Mayo
  • Obelisco
  • Galerías Pacífico
  • Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes
  • El Ateneo Grand Splendid
Galerias Pacifico

Europe – Paris

Eiffel Tower, Paris

To many, Paris is their dream location and I’m sure the majority of those have accomplished their dream. For me too, Paris has been the utmost dream and I intend to fulfill this in a few years time. The places that I’d visit if I were in Paris would be:

  • Eiffel Tower
  • Louvre Museum
  • Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris
  • Tuileries Garden
  • Musée d’Orsay
  • Le Parc des Princes
Louvre Museum

Asia – Sri Lanka

There are too many beautiful places to choose from, from Asia so I’ve I decided to pick an entire country instead. It was touch and go call between Thailand and Sri Lanka. I went with the latter purely on the basis of its much wider natural beauty. So, here are the locations I’d visit if I were in Sri Lanka:

  • Sigiriya
  • Galle Dutch Fort
  • Ravana Falls
  • Hikkaduwa Beach
  • Sri Pada/ Adam’s Peak
  • Horton Plains National Park
Somewhere in Sri Lanka

Africa – Madagascar

Scenery in Madagascar

The continent of Africa is huge and it has numerous countries and places that are beautiful. But I, I went with Madagascar because it has always been a place I’d want to visit especially after the Ice Age movie series. Here’s a list of places I would visit in Madagascar:

  • Avenue of the Baobabs
  • Tsarabanjina
  • Île aux Nattes
  • Andringitra National Park
  • Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park
  • Queen’s Palace
Trees in Madagascar

Australia – Gold Coast

Gold Coast Beach

Oh, you pretty Australia; probably one of the most livable places on Earth. I wouldn’t mind visiting the entire continent-cum-country, but if I were given one place to visit in Australia, I’d blindly pick the Gold Coast in Brisbane. Here are the things I would love to visit there:

  • The Star Gold Coast
  • Warner Bros. Movies World
  • Snapper Rocks
  • Surfers Paradise Beach
  • Sea World
  • Dreamworld
Gold Coast, Queensland

Antarctica – Everywhere

Deception Island

I’m quite certain I’d never get to visit the simply gorgeous continent of Antarctica, but if I did, it would definitely be the whole damn continent. These places I would surely visit if I ever get the chance to visit Antarctica:

Penguins in Antarctica
  • Deception Island
  • Elephant Island
  • McMurdo Station
  • Antarctic Great Wall Station
  • Villa Las Estrellas
  • Greenwich Island

So that pretty much sums up the one place I’d love to visit in each of the seven continents. Do not forget to tell me about your favourite place in the comments below. I’ll be reading.

  3. I’d love to go to New York and Buenos Aires. They are both such interesting looking places! Antarctica would be amazing to go to as well! I’d love to go back to Paris. I feel like I’ve been to the GC (Gold Coast) enough – since I’m from NZ, it’s pretty easy to get to, and my aunt and uncle live there! It is a cool place to visit, but I personally prefer Melbourne!

    1. New York and Buenos Aires are indeed interesting places to visit. And yes, Antarctica would definitely be amazing. And Gold Cost looks so pretty from the pictures I’ve seen. And yes, Melbourne is great. My cousin has been living there with his fam for like 10 years, and I’ve heard amazing things about that city. Dying to visit Melbourne someday. (:
