B-Connect: Episode 10 with Sarah

B-Connect: Episode 10

My B-Connect series for bloggers is into double figures now. Couldn’t be any happier. Its episode 10 today (Sunday), and I have with me Sarah as the special blogger guest. Below are her answers to all the questions I threw at her. Kindly have a read.

Getting Prepped Up

What is your name, and where you’re from?

Hello! My name is Sarah. I’m originally from Michigan, but I live in Virginia.

What are some of your interests?

Aside from blogging, I love to write stories. I absolutely love music. I dabble in photography as well. I love learning, so I’m constantly researching anything new that pops up.

What or who got you into blogging?

My mother got me into blogging. I told my mother one summer that I wanted to quit college to be a writer. She said, “Ok, start a blog.” Here I am, seven years later.

Why do you love blogging?

I love teaching, so this to me is a great way to inform people of things they may not know of, or have never heard of. I also like to express my thoughts and feelings, and tell stories, so to have my own platform to be able to do this, makes blogging appealing.

What does blogging mean to you?

It means being able to have your own space in a world that may have otherwise told you, you don’t belong in it. It’s kind of like making your own world, where you get to decide what belongs in it, and what doesn’t.

Which is the best social platform for your blogs?

Definitely Twitter. I have seen such an increase since promoting my blog on there.

What advice would you give to an upcoming blogger?

Write what you want to write. If you want to do a beauty post, travel guide, and movie review all in one month, go for it. It’s ok to not have a niche at first. You’ll find it once you see what you enjoy writing about the most. And if you don’t want to fit into one niche, that’s ok too. It’s your world, let it fit you, not the other way around.

Honesty Blogger Hour

If you could meet one blogger you met online, whom would it be?

Any of them, really. Anyone who has the guts to put themselves out there in a world full of blogs is worth meeting.

According to you, name your three underrated bloggers.

I think bloggers in general are underrated. Blogging is hard, time consuming, and at time, discouraging. They don’t get enough credit for the hard work they put into maintaining something that often goes overlooked. Everyone has a blog these days, so trying to stand out from all of them is something to be commended.

Your most favourite blog you’ve written till date.

This is a tough one. I can’t decide between my NaNoWriMo post from last year, or my first post of this year. Of course, if I went back farther, I could come up with a list of my favorite posts, but I won’t do that to you.

Your least favourite blog you have written.

Ha! I don’t think I have a least favorite. I try to like at least a little piece of everything I post.

The best blog you have read till date is…

Another tough one. I’ve read so many, I don’t know where to start or what to choose. I honestly have no idea how to answer this…

Would You Rather

Would you rather date an ugly person with a good heart or a beautiful/handsome person with a bad heart?

If their heart is good, their beauty shines from within. I’d take that any day. (By the way, ugly is subjective, and I wouldn’t classify anyone as “ugly” anyway).

Would you rather help the poor or waste it on a party?

What is a “party”? I’m only kidding. Help the poor.

Would you rather want your life to be full of money and suffering or less money and good health?

Money isn’t everything for me. It never has been. I’d rather lose a day of work and take care of someone who isn’t healthy, than push them aside and make money. Health is always important. If you’re not healthy, what good is money anyway?

Would you rather sit home and spend time with your family or go on a date with your celebrity crush?

Sit at home. I’m a home body. I’d rather look at my crush from afar.

No More Secrets

Describe an incident you’re not proud of.

Speaking poorly about a coworker to new employees. I’m glad she finally confronted me. That was before I really knew her. I had just never met anyone whom I felt so much anger towards before, and I didn’t know what to do with all of it. We’re cool now.

Three facts nobody knows about you.

Three facts nobody knows about you.

I’m an open book, most of the time. So here are three facts about me that I don’t share too often:

1. I used to stutter when I was younger. It was so bad, I couldn’t get past the first word in a sentence. That probably had a lot to do with me being a writer.

2. I once took pole dancing lessons. Hey, it’s good exercise, and it’s a lot of fun! And if I still lived where I could continue the classes, I would!

3. I took ballet as a wee lass. You can catch me doing a ballet move or two from time to time.

Name of your secret crush.

Here it is: I don’t have one. I generally find most people physically attractive, but I move on at such a high rate, there’s no reason to crush.

Choices to Make

Twitter or Instagram

Twitter! Instagram is hard to connect on, for me.

Tea or Coffee

I like coffee, but I’ve recently discovered I now like tea. So…chocolate milk!

Summer or Winter

Summer. Being from Michigan, where it’s Winter three fourths of the year, I like the warmth.

Morning Person or Night Person

Night person, for sure (even though I work at 5am sometimes, I still “go to bed” at 12 or 1am. It’s more like I’m taking a nap).

Introvert or Extrovert

Introvert (INFJ to be exact).

Cake or Chocolate

Chocolate. I like cake, but I like chocolate more.

KFC or McDonald’s

McDonald’s.

Money or Love

Love.

City or Countryside

Countryside, more peaceful and beautiful.

Watching sports or playing it

Watching, although I do enjoy playing basketball, but not watching it.

Movies or TV Shows

That depends what it is. Some TV shows are better than some movies.

Marvel or DC Comics

Marvel, for sure.

Home-cooked food or Outside food

Food! That’s my answer.

Gift giver or Gift Receiver

I’m really bad at both. My gift giving consist of doing things for people, not actually giving them something physical. I also don’t know how to receive a gift. I often look unimpressed, when inside I’m jumping for joy.
