Influencing the world through words

B-Connect with Becca

When Sunday arrives, the more excited I get. It’s not because of the holiday (well, partly because of it), but because I get to share another episode of my B-Connect blog. This week on B-Connect, I have with me a very good blogger friend of mine. Her name is Becca and here are her answers to all the questions I had thrown at her.

Getting Prepped Up

Words and Other Malarky

What is your name, and where you’re from?

Becca, and I’m from Kansas City, Missouri. Not sure why I insist on keeping that a secret as if people care.

What are some of your interests?

Writing (duh), music, movies, makeup, and succulent gardening.

What or who got you into blogging?

I’m not 100% sure… my family was probably tired of hearing my book/movie rants and told me I should blog about it. Haha, just kidding. Actually, maybe.

Why do you love blogging?

I have creative control over what I write about, and I feel like it’s a very organic growing process because you’re interacting with readers and other bloggers as you go. It’s a reason to write and to want to get better at writing.

What does blogging mean to you?

It means that I can build an online presence as a writer and have a place to play around with ideas, for better or worse, haha.

Which is the best social platform for your blogs?

What advice would you give to an upcoming blogger?

Block out time to write and give yourself plenty of time to revise. You’ll write better and catch more typos.

Honesty Blogger Hour

If you could meet one blogger you met online, whom would it be?

That’s a tough one! I would totally love to meet Jackie of Jackie and All Trades. She seems like a cool girl.

According to you, name your three underrated bloggers.

Again, that’s a tough one. I’m not sure I know enough bloggers to know if any of them are considered “underrated.” Little Fears, Quill and Bean, and Female Original all have really unique aesthetics.

Your most favourite blog you’ve written till date.

The Enemy of My Enemy: A Semi-Original Short Story

Your least favorite blog you have written.

How Not to Write Flawed Characters. Kind of ramble-y and underdeveloped.

The best blog you have read till date is…

Chuck Wendig’s blog, Terribleminds. The stuff he thinks up is insanely funny. And the guest posts are awesome, too.

Would You Rather

Would you rather date an ugly person with a good heart or a beautiful/handsome person with a bad heart?

Ugly person with a good heart, hands down.

Would you rather help the poor or waste it on a party?

Jeez, this one really puts you in a corner, huh? I’ll say waste it on a party just to make people mad, haha.

Would you rather want your life to be full of money and suffering or less money and good health?

How is this even a contest? Less money and good heath, duh! What’s the point of having money if you’re miserable?

Would you rather sit home and spend time with your family or go on a date with your celebrity crush?

Haha I see my family enough so celebrity crush?!?!

No More Secrets

Describe an incident you’re not proud of.

I already told my blackout drunk story in my Mystery Blogger post, so I’ll go with a less common one: in college, I had to take private lessons as part of my viola scholarship, and once I got so frustrated I cried in front on the professor. He was about as good at dealing with emotions as a brick wall, and I felt like a weakling breaking down in front of him. Never let them see you lose it, haha.

Three facts nobody knows about you.

Nobody, meaning, most people? I guess most people don’t know I’m originally from Las Vegas (until I tell them because I love bragging about it… as if it’s something to be proud of, haha), I’m right-handed but left-footed? (I still don’t understand it, all I know is that I kick a ball with my left), and I was homeschooled off-and-on until high school.

Name of your secret crush.

A celebrity crush still counts, right? If so, then Jordan. That’s his real name, I think, but he’s a singer with a stage name.
