Influencing the world through words

The current number 2 ranked Men’s Singles tennis player in the world, Daniil Medvedev has finally got his hands on a Grand Slam trophy. It has been quite the ride for the Russian, whose consistency has finally paid off with arguably the biggest title of his career so far. In 2019, Medvedev had reached his first-ever Grand Slam final, incidentally at the US Open. But on that night, he came out second-best in a 5-set thriller. Fast forward to 2 years later, and the Russian found himself in another US Open final. But this time, against all odds, the Russian prevailed in straight sets against the World Number 1, Novak Djokovic.

Daniil Medvedev was absolutely clinical in the tournament, to say the least. He was rolling over opponents and lost just one set enroute to the final. Djokovic on the other hand had lost 6 sets coming into the final. Moreover, the Serbian had battled past Alexander Zverev in a 5 sets thriller. And it’s never easy to come back two days later and fight again. But Djokovic looked pretty good in the final, Medvedev even more so.
