Influencing the world through words

Coronavirus Quarantine

Currently, our planet Earth is suffering and suffering real bad. And it is all because of the coronavirus outbreak. While governments all over the world are doing their best to cease the spread of this deadly virus, we should do our best to follow the safety measures issued by the World Health Organization. One of the measures is to stay at home and remain there for as long as the spread of the virus diminishes. Now I know it is hard for many, especially the extroverts to stay put at home. But worry not, because there are so many things you could do. Utilize this time in doing productive things. If you aren’t sure what or how you want to spend this time, you should read further as I will be talking about how I plan on spending my Coronavirus quarantine time. Perhaps, you might get some cool ideas out of it? Well, who knows?!

Things I Will Be Doing During Coronavirus Quarantine

Here’s a list of things I plan on doing during my home quarantine time. Maybe you could add them to your list?

#1. Do Some Online Courses

One of the best ways to make use of this indefinite break is to enroll yourself in some online courses. There are so many online courses and websites that offer millions of courses. I have already enrolled myself for three courses on this online study site called Udemy. The courses I have opted for are: Learning More About Microsoft Excel, Learning About Digital Marketing, and How To Effectively Write Sports Blog.

#2. Reading More Books

I simply love reading books, but off late I haven’t been doing so and that bugs me. But well, I had my reasons not to. Now, I have ample amounts of time to finish the books which I have purchased and not read yet. Some of those books that I purchased and plan on reading during my quarantine are: Chinglish by Sue Pickford, Birth of A Duo by Chandranyan Gupta, and there are quite a few others on my shelf waiting to be read. Besides, reading will indirectly help in boosting up your vocabulary.

#3. Watch Productive YouTube Videos

Youtube has a host of content and some of them are really productive. For instance, the TED Talks are really helpful and I plan on watching some of them. Besides, I also plan on watching other productive youtube videos such as this particular channel: Little Light Studios. Their content is really good, especially for Christians like me. But hey, you peeps can watch it too. They post some really eye-opening content. Must watch.

#4. Read My Bible

Of course, how could I possibly forget to not add this to my list? Although, I’ll be really honest here and say that I haven’t been reading my Bible as often as I should. But during my quarantine, I plan to start reading my Bible every single day, even after the quarantine days are over. As a Seventh Day Adventist and a firm believer in Christ, I feel that I have been drifting away from God lately. And I feel this is the right time to get closer to Him. I need to. I want to. So yes, I will be reading the Bible more often from now onwards.

#5. Complete My Pending TV Series

I know watching television series is not at all a productive thing to do. But it is something that I used to do a lot before. Now I have cut down on watching series for hours and hours. But hey, when you are in quarantine, you sure need some entertainment, right? Well, so yes, I will be trying and catching up on some of my pending tv series. Series such as The Flash, Arrow, Supergirl needs catching up. Lol. Although episodes are long, I plan on spending just a couple of hours on them. Not more than that.

#6. Sleep As Much As I Can

Over the past few months, I have been complaining about getting very little sleep. Now I have so much time to catch up on my precious sleep. I honestly couldn’t be any happier. So yes, apart from doing some productive things and watch some series, I will definitely make sure I get good sleep. Trust me, it is surely one of the best things to do, especially when you’re in your mid 20’s.

#7. Play Some Mobile/Laptop Games

Again another unproductive thing to do, but I really miss playing games. Now its the ideal time for me to get into good old days. I already have a game installed in my Laptop and I have a joystick too. So, I will try and play some games to cut time. Besides, I have a few mobile games on my phone which I haven’t really opened in a really long time. I guess I should pay them a small visit, don’t you think?

That’s it, people. That is my list of things I will be doing during my quarantine days. Let me know in the comments about the things you plan to do. I would love to know. Looking forward to all your replies.

Stay indoors. Stay safe. Thank you!

  1. While filling my mornings with productivity, I deeply enjoy my afternoon naps with my puppy, Milo. Hoping to finish up this to do list before heading back to work [eventually].
Sending my best wishes, stay safe!

  2. These are all great ways to spend your extra time. I think finally watching your tv shows is productive though because it forces you to stop going all the time. We all need rest, especially now. Enjoy!

  3. This sounds pretty similar to my spare time in lockdown, although I’ve been working throughout.

How did you get on with all the things you wanted to do? Are you still in lockdown x

    1. Yeh, I did reasonably well I guess. And unfortunately, we’re still in lockdown. Well, at least my city is!
